The Fires in Australia are the Size of Belgium

I just spent a good bit of time going over the situation in Australia.

I watched a video of a guy driving down a road that was littered with SCORES of dead animals that had died from smoke inhalation. The air quality in places like Canberra is currently the worst in the world, and there’s no telling what kind of long term effects this will have on people’s health.

There are 14.6 million acres that have been destroyed so far.
This is apparently twice the size of the entire country of Belgium. To put that into perspective that’s more ‘Murican…imagine if say ALL of Maine or Pennsylvania burned up in a wildfire.

Below is the view in Canberra and the view from a plane that passed through the affected area.
