Movie Review – The Gentlemen

We're obviously early in, but I already have my favorite film of 2020 thus far. I LOVE a character driven story, and Guy Ritchie is a filmmaker that really shines when he does these kinds of films.'Lock,...

Netflix Review – ‘Don’t F**k With Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer’

While Allison was off at Steph’s annual ‘Girls Night’ getting absurdly drunk, and inbetween them Facetiming me and asking me inappropriate questions as part of some game they were playing, I watched the Netflix limited doc series…”Don’t F**k With Cats”.

If you aren’t familiar, it’s about a group of people who were so disturbed by a video on the internet of a young man vacuum sealing two kittens and then toying around with their dead bodies, that they became determined to find out his identity and bring him to justice.

The only problem was, he was much more of a psycho than they ever imagined, and their two-year journey to take him down would take unimaginable turns.

This doc series is so captivating that you simply can’t help your self from pushing play on the next episode.
One caveat, however….if you are an animal person…you know, the kind that value animals more than people, this is gonna as they say in clinical terms ‘fuck you up’.

Now…here’s my, what I know will be an unpopular opinion…

I found this group of internet crusaders to be a bit off-putting.

For instance, the woman you see that opens the trailer here existed on Facebook as a ‘character’, or as what she refers to when other people do it as a ‘sock puppet account’. Yet she never saw herself that way. She referred to her online persona as someone who allows her to be whoever she wants.

Now, perhaps I’m being a bit cruel, but I find these types to just be a bit…unsettling.
Why not just BE the person you want to be?
Why not just live your life normally?

I don’t know, it’s a petty thing to take away from the entirety of the story, but I’m petty I suppose.

Regardless of all of my dopey issues, do not miss this series, it’s unbelievably compelling.
Even in the midst of drunken broads FaceTiming you and cackling like hens.

So I eventually landed on this podcast today. It's the story of the disappearance and clear murder of Kristin Smart in 1996. Now, it's rather infuriating because it's abundantly clear who killed her, but...

This was JUST brought to my attention last night, but you may have seen it before. Imagine a town so bereft of anything culturally relevant, that a Dunkin' DoNITS being temporarily closed could cause this...
