Who Would be the Extreme Left Version of a Presidential Medal of Freedom Recipient or Cabinet Member?
It appears we now live in a time where Americans are so divided there are large numbers of people who would argue 2 + 2 equals strawberries. With Rush Limpball recently being awarded the Presidential Medal...
Let’s take a closer look at how color saturation and other features in Photoshop might have been used to spawn the latest Presidential meme. If any of you are interested in an orange face you can pick up...
Movie BROview – ‘Isn’t It Romantic’
Right here, I want to speak to the bros.
To the guys who have to go to films that the woman wants to see from time to time.
And don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind a relationship film here and there…if it’s done well.
I’ll happily watch a ‘Notting Hill’, a ‘Love Actually’, a ‘The Notebook’.
I’m not a TBS ‘Movies For Guys Who Like Movies’ type of guy.
I swear, I’m not!
That said, as guys we know that sometimes we have to see things that we would otherwise never lend our minds and wallets to.
I think this is what people mean when they talk about relationships being hard work.
I don’t know…maybe it’s other stuff too, but this certainly seems pretty high up there.
About a month ago, and while we were seeing ‘On The Basis Of Sex’, the trailer for ‘Isn’t It Romantic’ played. Here was a film that was going to make fun of all of the worst aspects of what we’ve all come to know as the ‘Rom-Com’.
The Romantic Comedy.
When the trailer was finished, the woman leaned over to me and said “That looks funny. We should go see that.”
Now I didn’t feel I needed to see it, but I felt that I could be down with a film that makes fun of the clichéd and very played out tropes of the standard Rom Com.
WOW, was I wrong!
The true magic of ‘Isn’t It Romantic’, is that it sets out to be a film that ridicules romantic comedies, while in the process becomes perhaps the very worst romantic comedy that I’ve ever seen! It literally becomes every single cliché that it’s ridiculing…right before our very eyes!
It somehow managed to take what could have been a spectacular premise and turns it into one of the laziest, and most uninspired things imaginable.
All, and I’ll repeat that…ALL of our laughter was at the expense of the film, not because of it’s comedic chops.
It was horrible beyond being horrible.
It punched you in the face with it’s mediocrity, and unlike the Jussie Smollett attack, this one was real!
Bros….‘Isn’t It Romantic’ is where you must draw the line!!
I have suffered so you don’t have to.
If she tries to make you see it, bro down real hard!
Not in the theater.
Not on Blu-Ray.
Not on cable.
Just say ‘NO!’.
Opinionated Irish Guy
Hey wimmens! Did you ever wonder what happened to those guys that you thought were so 'fresh' when you hung at Confetti's and Air Transport Command? Well...I'm gonna assume this is many of them today....
I remember when everything exploded for Harvey. Kevin Smith immediately went public and said that he never knew what Harvey was doing, and that it broke his heart to know that the guy who he made films for...
So I eventually landed on this podcast today. It's the story of the disappearance and clear murder of Kristin Smart in 1996. Now, it's rather infuriating because it's abundantly clear who killed her, but...
This was JUST brought to my attention last night, but you may have seen it before. Imagine a town so bereft of anything culturally relevant, that a Dunkin' DoNITS being temporarily closed could cause this...
There's this show on Netflix called 'Love Is Blind'.They place what appear to me to be incredibly mentally compromised people in boxes where they can talk to members of the opposite sex through the wall...
We're obviously early in, but I already have my favorite film of 2020 thus far. I LOVE a character driven story, and Guy Ritchie is a filmmaker that really shines when he does these kinds of films.'Lock,...
